The winner of the TechCrunch Disrupt Berlin 2017 Hackathon “Quick Insurance” demonstrated how you can innovate a whole industry with Revenue Cloud.
Hundreds of engineers and designers gathered to compete at the hackathon, with just 24 hours to finalize their projects. The mobile app named Quick Insurance build with Revenue Cloud claimed the top prize at the Berlin event. Quick Insurance has built in Revenue Cloud’s pay-as-you-go billing model. The App is the easiest way to purchase an insurance product for all your valuable stuff. Let’s say you go skiing for a week with a very expensive camera. In just a few taps, you can insure your camera for a week from your phone.
This is the second consecutive year in which a Disrupt Hackathon winner based their software on SAP Hybris solutions, with Pointshop.space taking top honors at the 2016 event in San Francisco.
Quick Insurance was recognized for its viable business model, which meets a real consumer need in an underserved market for insurance carriers. The app can plug into existing systems of insurance companies and provide a personal risk assessment. SAP Hybris Revenue Cloud helped make this service a reality.
In addition to Quick Insurance, additional software bids at the Berlin event tapped SAP Hybris solutions. One example is Ad-in, which offers advertisers an easy way to promote their products in games. It uses SAP Hybris Revenue Cloud to generate billing based on viewing duration and frequency of displayed products. Other hackathon candidates using SAP Hybris solutions were BillboardAR, Lightfaden, humble, and Gym-As-You-Go!
