This prototype gets its name from the Belgian city’s harbour and connection to diamonds. The moving of goods and handling of a high quality product resemble attributes of online data, in this particular case: product data.
Code Name: Antwerp is an intelligent augmentation platform that offers organisations across company boarders the opportunity to participate in master data management – for one and the same product – by completing various elements of the data set, to bring it into an appropriate and canonical format (i.e. data mapping, data cleaning, adding of missing information). Further augmentations of the data can include the specification of suitable categories, variants, and bundles.
In the past, data entered manually into the PCM (product content management) or data from different sources often didn’t meet the required quality. But by making use of the Hyperledger Fabric technology (blockchain), Code Name: Antwerp makes the data augmentation immutable, traceable and transparent. Additionally, an open and secure interface for organisations allows participants to monetarise their service, while the platform takes 30% of the earnings.
