This prototype increases customer service by providing useful information to shop assistants. The moment a customer enters the store, the shop assistant, who is wearing Google Glass, receives a notification and can retrieve following information: customer’s name, customer’s profile photo, customer’s specific product interest, customer’s wish list. Google Glass can also guide the shop assistant to the customer’s desired product.
In a way Google Glass is on a similar trajectory to the cell phone and might follow a similar adoption path. Early cell phones remember, had some of the same attributes: they were expensive and slightly awkward devices. Cell phone adoption began in the enterprise and that’s where Glass usage may initially flourish.
